elopements
— done right.
Edinburgh elopement photographer — Castle, Calton Hill, Register Office, anywhere quiet.
The work
An elopement is the most photographed wedding of all. Without 80 guests to manage, every minute is yours, every frame is intimate, every walk is a portrait opportunity. I shoot more Edinburgh elopements than anything else — the city was built for them.
How I shoot
Documentary, hand-held, two lenses (35mm and 50mm), no posing lists. I plan the route — Register Office to Calton Hill, City Chambers to Royal Mile, Old Town closes at blue hour — and shoot the day like a short film. You walk, I work. Nobody notices the camera.
Who it's for
Couples eloping with 0–12 guests. Anniversary vow-renewals. Edinburgh weekenders flying in for the ceremony and out the next morning. International couples wanting a Scottish backdrop without the logistics of a country-house wedding.

Straight answers
About elopements.
Where do most Edinburgh elopements happen?
Edinburgh City Chambers (cheap, beautiful, fast), the Lothian Chambers Register Office, the Signet Library (private, intimate), or directly at Calton Hill / Arthur's Seat with a celebrant.
Can you act as our witness?
Yes — for legal ceremonies needing two witnesses, I can sign as one, and bring a second from my regular suppliers if needed. No extra charge.
How quickly do we get the photos?
A 20-image preview gallery within 48 hours so you have something to send family. Full gallery within 14 days.
Is an elopement cheaper than a full wedding?
On every line. Venue, catering, photography, the lot. An Edinburgh elopement with City Chambers + Register Office + a great restaurant + Hometown Hour photography comes in under £900 all-in.
