The camera arrived far too late for most of them. So we made the photograph anyway. Wallace at the bridge. Bruce and the spider. Burns stopping the plough. Baird switching on the first televised face in 1926. Carnegie opening a library. Curie's shed glowing faintly blue at midnight. Portraits and moments, made from scratch.

Every figure in this collection is long deceased and firmly in the public domain. Nothing here is a copy, restaging or reproduction of an existing painting or photograph — each piece is an original composition built from period dress, tools, architecture and light.
A small number of twentieth-century names are handled differently. Where likeness rights are still live or contested, we render the era rather than the individual: the map room, the patent office desk, the chest-high writing shelf — figures seen from behind, at distance, or in shadow. Suggestive of the world, never a replica of the face.
Each piece is meta-tagged for the home office, living room and hallway, and ships as a signed archival print, stretched canvas, framed edition or full-wall mural.
